Meeting with H.E. Ms. Nevena Jovanović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, at the NAMYO HQ in Baku.

On February 3, NAM Youth Organization hosted H.E. Ms. Nevena Jovanović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, at the NAMYO HQ in Baku.

 

Following a tour of the Headquarters, H.E. Ms. Jovanovićaddressed NAMYO members on youth engagement in diplomacy and international relations, as well as the role of young people in shaping multilateral cooperation.

 

H.E. Ms. Jovanović of Serbia highlighted that, given current unsettling developments, NAM’s founding principles hold relevance more than ever. She also emphasized the critical role thatthe youth play in furthering these principles, including respect to the norms and principles of international law and galvanizing multilateral cooperation on shared challenges.

The meeting concluded with an engaging Q&A session during which NAMYO members addressed questions to H.E. Ms. Jovanović on Serbia’s historical role as a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement and how, today as an observer state, Serbia interprets the relevance of NAM principles in addressing contemporary global challenges such as geopolitical polarization and uneven development.

The exchange also explored the growing role of youth-led platforms like NAMYO in advancing dialogue on multilateralism and international cooperation, alongside interactive discussions on Serbia’s current foreign policy posture and strategic priorities amidst growing global uncertainties.
