Guest of Honor of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization, H.E. Prof. Dr. Sahiba Gafarova - Interactive Discussion on the Role of Youth in Parliamentary Cooperation

On September 14, NAMYO hosted H.E. Prof. Dr. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the NAM Parliamentary Network, as the guest of honor for an interactive discussion on the role of youth in parliamentary cooperation.


The session brought together NAMYO members to exchange views on youth participation in parliamentary cooperation. H.E. Prof. Dr. Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the different yet complementary roles of the NAM Youth Organization and the NAM Parliamentary Network, the value of cooperation between the two platforms, and the role of the NAMYO Research Center in advancing knowledge and supporting the Organization’s work.


The discussion addressed the key challenges of our time and the need for parliaments to respond effectively to an evolving global landscape. H.E. Prof. Dr. Sahiba Gafarova also shared her vision for more inclusive, responsive and balanced shared leadership, closer to Member Parliaments, while promoting parliamentary multilateralism and meaningful youth engagement in decision-making.


The session provided a valuable platform for dialogue between young people and parliamentary perspectives, highlighting the importance of youth participation in cooperation and decision-making within the Non-Aligned Movement.
