Meeting with the COP29 Presidency Team at NAMYO Headquarters

On May 17, we hosted a meeting with the COP29 Presidency Team at NAMYO Headquarters!

The session focused on emphasizing NAMYO's commitment to youth engagement and ensuring young leaders' voices are heard in climate action and sustainable development. The discussions centered on preparations for the upcoming COP29, which will take place in Baku in November.

The session started with the opening remarks from the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and the COP29 President-Designate, H.E. Mr. Mukhtar Babayev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and COP29 Lead Negotiator, Mr. Yalchin Rafiyev and the Chairperson of the NAMYO and the Youth Climate Champion for COP29, Ms. Leyla Hasanova.

Speakers talked about that climate action requires urgent and unified efforts, highlighting the vital role of youth in driving forward ambitious environmental initiatives and policies.

NAMYO Members engaged interactively during the meeting commenting their thoughts and addressing their questions.
