With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the NAM Youth Organization successfully organized its first Summer Camp on Non-Aligned Movement Orientation, held from 12 to 17 June in Sheki, Azerbaijan.
Bringing together more than 60 local and international young participants, the camp served as a comprehensive educational and cultural platform aimed at enhancing youth awareness of the history, values, principles, and contemporary agenda of the Non-Aligned Movement. Throughout the five-day program, participants engaged in seminars, workshops, panel discussions, simulations, and intellectual games covering key topics such as the Bandung Principles, South-South cooperation, multilateralism, and the role of youth within NAM.
Beyond its academic dimension, the camp fostered intercultural dialogue, teamwork, and solidarity through networking activities, sports competitions, cultural programs, city tours, and outdoor experiences highlighting the rich historical and cultural heritage of Sheki. Interactive sessions and team-based exercises enabled participants to develop leadership, communication, and diplomatic skills while strengthening bonds among youth from diverse backgrounds.
The camp concluded with a closing ceremony during which participants received certificates of participation, and winners of various intellectual and sports activities were awarded. As NAMYO’s first camp initiative, the Summer Camp on NAM Orientation marked an important step toward empowering youth as informed and active contributors to the Non-Aligned Movement and promoting sustained youth engagement in multilateral cooperation.
