NAM Youth Perspective: Regional and Global Collaboration in Mine Action

NAM Youth Organization (NAMYO), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF—ERC) co-organized a side event on the sidelines of the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025!

Many NAM Member States face humanitarian, social, environmental, and economic challenges caused by mine contamination. Recognizing the grave importance of this issue, the side event was dedicated to the theme of “NAM Youth Perspective: Regional and Global Collaboration in Mine Action”. Young people are among the risk groups that face multifaceted challenges related to this issue.

During the event, various stakeholders, including representatives of UN agencies, NGOs, technical experts, civil society, and youth advocates, united for mine action and its integration into broader development frameworks. NAMYO National Chapters participated remotely in the event as well.
